In 1967, Ian qualified as a Chartered Accountant, and got married. In 1968 he set off with his wife and baby daughter to sail across the Atlantic to the Caribbean and all points west. He recounts this experience, when they endured storms aplenty, a collision with whales and a near sinking in “An Atlantic Odessey”, all with baby Samantha aboard.
How did Samantha, then just six months old, fare, living on board in such conditions and when the sharks ate the nappies?
