1. How long are Ian's talks?
Ian’s illustrated talks last about 45 minutes with plenty of time afterwards for questions if required.
2. Do I need to provide equipment?
Ian has some of the required equipment, but not a screen (too bulky to carry) nor a projector, although he can hire one to bring with him at a daily cost of £25. Most venues are suitably equipped, so please check there. The provision of equipment can be discussed at the time of booking.
3. What size audiences does Ian cater for?
Audience sizes can range from, say 30, perhaps the optimum minimum, up to, say 100 +, subject to limitations on size of room etc and screen and speaker capability. (Ian has, in the past, spoken to audiences of more than 1,000 - POA 😉)
4. Where does Ian offer his talks?
Ian is based in Godalming, Surrey. As such, most of his talks are generally provided within nearby counties. However, he is very happy to talk nationwide and invites your interest. Accommodation, if required, can be provided at cost (e.g. Premier Inn) or Ian is happy to be put up by his hosts, which can significantly reduce costs.
5. Can these talks be used as fund raising opportunities for my club / association?
Of course, this can be a brilliant and innovative way of raising funds for your group or club whilst hopefully attracting new members.
Ian is happy to amend his talk structure, where possible, to extend it slightly to allow for a short, mid talk break, for refreshments (and more possible fund raising!)
Ask Ian for his suggestions as to how best to run such an event. He can also send you a pricing model and additional notes to help you consider whether this opportunity might be of interest to you.
